07 Feb Viroplant presented to the Mondovì high school Cigna-Baruffi-Garelli students
On February 3rd ad 5th 2020 two classes from the Institute of Superior Education Cigna-Baruffi-Garelli from Mondovì visited IPSP-CNR Institute in Torino. During the visit, Marina Ciuffo presented the Viroplant project and the idea of using viruses as biocontrol tools in agriculture. In particular, she explained phage therapy applied to the control of diseases in kiwi and beans. Gabriele Martino showed the laboratory methodology for bacteriophages isolation and study and Marta Vallino let students observe some phage particles with the transmission electron microscope.
